FAQ: Are BlackBerry Torch 9800 & Torch 9810 Cases & Accessories Compatible?

ACC-14396-313 (Blackberry 9800 Sync Pod

I have been asked this question multiple times in the last few weeks so I thought it would be best to lay the question to rest. Many users have been asking if the accessories for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 are compatible with the new BlackBerry Torch 9810. I have tested out multiple accessories on both devices from Case-Mate, OtterBox, and other vendors and so far they have all fit like a charm. RIM confirms that the dimensions of both devices are identical and their accessories like the SyncPod clearly are for both devices.

The easiest way to confirm this and lay the question to rest is to look at RIM’s official ShopBlackBerry store which seems to have simply changed the description of every 9800 accessory to say 9800/9810. Even the battery (F-S1) is the same on both devices. In other words this is more of an upgrade like the 9780 was for the 9700 instead of the incompatible Storm 9500/9530 to the Storm 9520/9550.

Let us know if you run into any accessory or case that does not work between the two devices!

Review: DICOTA TabBook Case for the BlackBerry PlayBook

tabbook5DICOTA is one of the newest members the join the Built for BlackBerry alliance but they are not new to making cases and bags to protect your electronics on the go with stylish designs.  They make cases for BlackBerry devices, and the recently launched BlackBerry PlayBook. DICOTA sent us a sample for a reviewand a few extra to giveaway which some of our lucky readers were first to have these cases on their hands.

The one am going to review is  the TabBook Case for the BlackBerry PlayBook.  This is a unique and stylish design featuring a notebook style casing that makes it look like your simply carrying a stylish tabbook6agenda or a notebook on your hands. In the interior of the case there is a hard shell that encases the PlayBook to keep it secure while providing access to all the ports and buttons through cut out sections.

Main Features:

The really neat feature on this case is the way it allows you to fold it into a stand to view in two different modes. When you are done using it the case can be easily put back into a notebook hiding and protecting your PlayBook.  The case also  has a strap that allows you to fit your hand through it making it more secure while you hold with one hand.

The easy access buttons, and camera are easy to access without taking away from the usability of the device. For the back camera it has a cut out that allows you to take pictures or video without having to  take the PlayBook out of the case.

If you are looking for a good quality case this one offers quite a bit of features and it should be out for sale soon. If you like to find out more about this case you can go to this link. No pricing is available at the moment but they should be out soon.

Quick Review: BlackBerry Skin Case for PlayBook

If you're looking for a case to add some protection and style to your BlackBerry PlayBook, look no further than the BlackBerry Skin Case for PlayBook. This simple silicone skin holds tight to your PlayBook keeping the sides and back of the device safe from the daily grind. While it won't fully surround your PlayBook like other devices, it does keep it scuff free in most instances. Even with the skin on you can still fit your PlayBook in the standard neoprene sleeve as well, so you won't need to worry about finding a carry case for your device as well. Overall I think the BlackBerry SKin Case is a great one if you're looking for something simple. Available in Black Opaque, Sky Blue and Pure White there is one that will fit you just right.
