RIM sent us an official video of the new Porsche Design P’9981 by BlackBerry that we have been telling you about today. It is not a hands on video or anything but it does the classic RIM sliding image thing. Its nice and short to the point if you want to check it out. Well that Porsche Design BlackBerry finally has a name. It looks like RIM is calling it the BlackBerry Porsche P’9981. It is similar to the BlackBerry Bold 9900 but is built with stainless steel keypad and front and a leather back. They also get a unique PIN number starting with 2AA along with a custom Porsche font and redesigned icons. We have not spotted anything official on RIM’s website yet but CNews Russia and BB.in managed to score some details and pictures.
Supposedly the Porsche Design P’9981 will be available at Porsche Design Stores before the end of the year. Are you going to pick one up? Anybody want to guess how much one of these will set you back?

We have seen quite a bit of the unusually designed BlackBerry by Porsche which is based on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 hardware. According to a invite scored by TBreak the device will be launching on October 27th at the worlds tallest restaurant in Dubai. It should be interesting to see what the demand will be for the device and what sort of hit it will take on owners pockets… In case you forgot what it looks like check out the pic after the break.

The odd BlackBerry Bold 9980 R47 concept phone has reared its head again in China. It now has a photoshoot next to a T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 for comparison. Nothing really new here but you can now see how similar or different the devices look. Let us know if you spot anything!

I am still not sure what to make of this mysterious BlackBerry 9980 R47 rumored Porsche concept phone codenamed “Knight” but its entertaining either way. The latest out of China from BerryCN are some stock pictures of the device. Its kind of odd to check out stock pictures after seeing pictures and video of a device but who knows. They are still calling it a design concept but I am sort of weird-ed out by that fourth icon in this render? Anybody want one of these frankenberrys?

The rumor mill is in full force this weekend. It all started with MaxPDA posting some high res pictures of the elusive industrial design style BlackBerry Bold 9980 which was meant for exclusive buyers. The device looks like an abomination of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 but I guess that is how designers charge exorbitant prices for “art”. Then BerryCN came in with some video of the BlackBerry R47 9980 for us to ponder over making us pretty confident that its not photoshopped.
Now Bla1ze over @CrackBerry posted up some speculation that this BlackBerry R47 is an exclusive limited edition device for Porsche customers codenamed “Knight”. Who knows but you would think RIM could find other ways to capitalize on name brands. Porsche does not have the best track record when it comes to designing things other than cars…
