BlackBerry Push Service SDK v1.1.0 Quietly Rolled Out for Developers

Its an odd move for RIM to not even mention this on their developer Blog but RIM updated their Push Service SDK tool to v1.1.0 late last month. Josep noticed that RIM has updated their documentation and release notes for the Push SDK on June 23rd and again on July 4th. This comes after their recent announcement that they were shuttering WebSignals and pushing developers to the Push API which makes sense.

According to the change log on RIM’s site this new version 1.1.0 includes the following new features for developers:

WordRival v1.4 Adds Push Alerts

WordRival is one of the better cross platform Scrabble-like games available for BlackBerry. I just got a notification from our store that the app has been updated with a much needed feature. Until now you had to have the app open to get next play notifications but now you get push alerts when it is your turn even if the game is closed.
