RIM shows off the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and 9860 in new commercial

RIM has posted up their latest commercial, this time showing off the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860. The theme of the ad is "Break Free" and shows off some BlackBerry use to get away. This is the first ad we've seen dedicated solely to the all-touch device but most likely not the last. While it's been a bit overshadowed by the BlackBerry Bold 9990, this is a good reminder that the 9850 and 9860 are still out there :-)

This is my second favorite picture this week (after Anderson Cooper and the llama of course). Martha Stewart at an event I'm assuming for Gwyneth Paltrow's new book - I may be way off base, I'm just guessing by her apron and a vague recollection of a cook book or something she was writing. The look on Gwyneth's face is priceless.

 

Snoop Dogg is still rockin a BlackBerry. And now he hangs out with Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker, because, why not? When you're Snoop Dogg, you do what you want.

 

Yes, I watch Vampire Diaries. So what, quit judging me. They've used BlackBerry smartphones a few times since the show started, as well as a couple of iPhones and even a Samsung Galaxy Tab last year. Here is Ian Somerhalder with a BlackBerry Torch.

 

The Season Finale of Alphas on SyFy had this closeup of a BlackBerry 97xx, though they blacked out the BlackBerry button. Apparently the Alphas are so gifted, they don't even need the radio on to use their devices. I'd take that power. 

 

Looks like the top remote viewer and professional spoon bender Uri Geller is a BlackBerry user. Awesome.

BlackBerry PlayBook Spotted on Rizzoli and Isles

One keen eyed CrackBerry reader caught the BlackBerry PlayBook in action on TNT's Rizzoli and Isles this past week. It's not the first time we've seen the PlayBook in action on a TV show and hopefully not the last. Networks like TNT and FX have some crazy BlackBerry action going on where phones are concerned, so maybe they'll start busting out the PlayBook more often as well. One more image after the break. Jennifer Garner takes her new Bold for a spin to the Apple Store

We usually hold our celeb sightings for the weekly roundup, but this one was too good to let wait. Jennifer Garner was spotted out and about in Santa Monica yesterday sporting a fancy new BlackBerry Bold 9900 (or Bold 9930). It's great to see shes such a BlackBerry lover that she snagged the new device already, but perhaps the best part is that she is using it while shopping in the Apple Store. We're not quite sure why she's there, but hopefully she'll stay true to BlackBerry and not swap it out for a new iPhone :-) Thanks Jessica!

BBM cupcakes and a BlackBerry PlayBook cake look sweet!

You know we're suckers for BlackBerry themed cakes at CrackBerry, and we've posted several before. Usually we see birthday cakes in the form of the user's favorite or current device, but today we have cupcakes! And not just any cupcakes, but BBM themed cupcakes! They look incredible with emoticon faces recreated on each one perfectly.

The RIMPIRE Strikes Back at Mercedes Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim!

Michelle has been doing a great job on our weekly Celebrity BlackBerry Sighting Round Ups, but when Miami-based fashion blog FashionablySocial.net sent us in this photo taken this past weekend I just had to post it up. Seriously, bikinis + blackberrys.... how could I not post it?!

The photo was captured at the Mercedes Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim event, at the Mara Hoffman show. Gotta love dueling BlackBerrys in the front row capturing the models walking down the runway. Definitely a RIMPIRE Strikes Back kind of moment. Now if only we can get some RIMPIRE bikinis made up, they'll be a nice compliment to the RIMPIRE t-shirts. Click the photo to see a bigger version. CrackBerry member builds custom vehicle mount for his PlayBook

CrackBerry member Dylan sent in some pictures of a project he just completed. He designed himself a custom PlayBook vehicle mount! Combining the snap-on shield from his PlayBook OtterBox and a car heater mount with a ball joint, he had a good starting point. A quick trip to the hardware store found him some L-shaped brackets to use as the mount. Says Dylan: "The rest was easy, just drill the holes and bolt them in. After it was mounted I hooked up my aux cable and had myself a custom screen in my truck."

It looks great, and goes to show what you can do with a little creativity and some spare parts. If do-it-yourself isn't your style, head on over to ShopCrackBerry and check out the car kits there. Phil and Friends jam BlackBerry style

This one has been floating around the web for a while it appears, but Matthew brought it to our attention yesterday and I'm not sure how we missed it for so long. This is by far my favorite of all the BlackBerry themed songs we've posted thus far. Here we have Phil & Friends in and informal jam session singing about all that is BlackBerry. The song is super catchy and really well done, and once again sure to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Granted there is an iPhone floating around in the video, but since the song is so good we'll let them slide just this once. Check out the full video above and get your BlackBerry jam on :-)

CrackBerry reader Otton gets a sweet BlackBerry cake for his birthday!

CrackBerry member Otton sent in pictures of the BlackBerry cake that he received for his June birthday from his girlfriend Malena. Modeled after his BlackBerry Bold 9700, it really shows just how addicted he is to his BlackBerry. This style is a bit more subdued than some we've seen in the past, but it's unmistakably a BlackBerry and looks awesome! I hope it tasted as good as it looked. Happy birthday Otton!
