Mike Lazaridis & Jim Balsillie Statement on Steve Jobs

The whole world seems a bit shook up today and condolences for Steve Jobs have been flowing in from every corner. RIM’s co-CEO’s Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie also had a statement on Steve Jobs passing. Here is what they said via CityTV/WSJ:

"Steve Jobs was a great visionary and a respected competitor," Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, co-CEOs of rival Research in Motion (TSX:RIM), said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences to his family and to all of the employees of Apple.”

Steve Jobs Passes On…

The news came in earlier today while I was out eating dinner with a friend and at first I thought it was another Twitter hoax. Sadly we lost a visionary tech leader today who inspired many of the innovations we take for granted today. While there is obviously an “Us & Them” dichotomy between many of us and Steve Jobs we  show our respect for a man who truly believed in living life with perfection as a goal.
