NewsPile Google Reader PlayBook App Gets Social With v1.0.6

NewsPile Update

I have been digging NewsPile on my PlayBook and it just got a nice update. Dennis let us know that v1.0.6 of NewsPile brings the most requested feature. It offers integration of sharing and bookmarking services! With this update you can share the articles you love on the following platforms: Delicious, Evernote, Facebook, Google+, Instapaper, Read it Later and, of course, Twitter. This update has also improved the user interface a bit with the left navigation pane growing a bit to make it more usable.

Check out NewsPile for the PlayBook in App World for $2.99

BlackBerry News for the BlackBerry PlayBook updated to version 1.1; brings portrait mode and read articles

Switch feeds from within an RSS channel in BlackBerry News App for PlayBook

BlackBerry News for the BlackBerry PlayBook is actually one of my favorite applications for the BlackBerry tablet. Rather than presenting all of your news items in lists of lists of lists, News shows your RSS feeds laid out like a magazine. Complete with images, headlines, and inspired layouts, BlackBerry News is a beautiful (and efficient) way of viewing your articles.

Version 1.1 brings quite a number of improvements to the application.

Not only that, but the once-laborious update process - for gathering new news - appears to be much more streamlined. The app completes its updates much more quickly than before and continues to gather data even after that "updating" screen disappears. Switching between articles or feeds once required a tap of the back button. No longer; switch between articles by tapping the arrows at the bottom or between feeds by swiping down from the top.

Version 1.1 of the BlackBerry News App for the PlayBook is a welcome and well-executed update to a wonderful free application. BlackBerry News is available to users in the United States and Canada.

Giveaway: Go Reader Review and a Chance to Win One of 50 Copies

Capture on 07-20-2011 11-47-30Are you a Google Reader user and can’t find the correct app to get your RSS fix? Go Reader does that and more. Go Reader an app from RoblesTech is an RSS reader that syncs your Google Reader with inbox notification integration.

App Description and Features:

Go Reader is a Google Reader™ client that allows you to read your Google Reader™ subscriptions on your BlackBerry® device everywhere you go.

Reading your Google Reader™ articles on the BlackBerry® has never been so easy.

• Manage subscription Subscribe/Unsubscribe
• Share articles via Google Reader™
Send articles via Twitter, Facebook and Email

The app design makes it simple to use and very similar to how Google arranges your feeds. Within the app you can mark all articles on a feed as read or within the feed it allows you to mark individual articles as read. I love sharing interesting news so the best features with this application is the ability to forward links to friends right from your BlackBerry with integration to the e-mail system. It does not allow you to send the body of the article just the subject and link to the article.  The application as you can see is packed with features. I am using ta torch on EDGE connection at the moment when you click to mark all items as read it may take sometime on a slow connection but when it is on Wi-Fi or 3G the action is a lot faster.

Compared to other applications I have tested the App fares right on spot with them if not better in some areas. This is definitely a good purchase at $2.99 on App world compare to others.  To purchase simply visit app world at this link or scan the QR code below.
