Vodafone UK Gets White BlackBerry Bold 9900 – AutoFocus?

Vodafone UK 9900 autofocus

The white BlackBerry Bold 9900 is making its rounds to carriers around the world. The latest stop is Vodafone UK which Terrence let us know about. They are offering the phone for free on certain plans but that is not the interesting part. Terrence pointed out to us that Vodafone has the white 9900 listed as having autofocus. I doubt that is the case since RIM said autofocus would not fit in the design but its fun to speculate!

Either way you can find the white BlackBerry Bold 9900 here on Vodafone UK’s website

Vodafone UK Shows Off a White BlackBerry Bold 9900 on Video

White bold 9900

I don’t know what it is about BlackBerrys in white but they just look good. We heard before that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 would be getting the white treatment like previous bold devices and it looks like that is happening. Babisboi pointed out a video preview of the device done by Vodafone UK and the device really looks good.

The tree is shaking now that RIM has announced the new Curve lineup and carriers are falling out confirming the BlackBerry Curve 9360. Other than Sprint they are not talking launch dates but they are confirming the device. You have to love how US carriers are always the quietest. Here are the latest confirmed carriers:

Official BlackBerry Bold 9900 OS OS 7.0.0.296 from Vodafone DE

imageWith the BlackBerry Bold 9900 already being sold in stores the official release OS versions are also starting to come out. Tim let us know that Vodafone DE has the BlackBerry Bold 9900 OS 7.0.0.296 listed on their BlackBerry download site now. Oddly Rogers does not have an official 9900 OS available for download.

Either way you can now pick up OS 7.0.0.296 for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 from Vodafone DE

Warning: This OS will not install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide.

Vodafone UK has the BlackBerry Bold 9900 for Preorder

vodafone UK preorder

While RIM and their partners have mostly been very quiet about a launch date and pricing for the BlackBerry 7 devices it looks like some of the carriers are finally starting to talk. Engadget noticed that both Vodafone UK and the Carphone warehouse have the Vodafone BlackBerry Bold 9900 listed for the UK. Vodafone UK has the 9900 for £41+ ($67) a month plan with a two-year contract to get the phone free. For half of that monthly plan requirement you can get the phone for £399 ($650) upfront. On the other hand the Carphone Warehouse has it for free from £31 per month on Vodafone or £500 off-contract.

Both of them are showing an August 12th date though which is nice to see!

Warning: This OS will not install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above. Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.
