If you needed any more signs that the recently announced BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380 are launching soon then look no further. Carriers have started rolling out official OS releases for both devices on their download websites. Mauricio @BBRocks noticed that Telkomsel launched OS 7.0.0.482 for the BlackBerry Curve 9380. Bla1ze @CrackBerry noticed that Telkomsel has also released OS OS 7.0.0.496 for the BlackBerry Bold 9790.
Anybody want to guess when and where they will come out first?

While the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 were just officially announced today that has not stopped TELUS for confirming their pricing. According to a tweet N4BB spotted from TELUS the devices will be “Coming soon, in time for the holidays” which is nice to see. They also confirmed the pricing on the new pages for the devices.

The official BlackBerry Blog has been doing a good job of following up each device launch with a short interview with the device project manager. They have done just that with the latest launches for the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380. The thing is they only lobbed soft questions and avoided the big elephant in the room of why the BlackBerry lineup keeps growing with marginally different devices. I have to be the first to admit that I am really digging the BlackBerry Curve 9350 even though I do have a BlackBerry Bold 9900 so I am going to leave final judgment until I have one in my hands. Also I have heard that the BlackBerry Bold 9790 simply differentiates by its form factor of being much lighter than the 9900 though it seems to lose the HSPA+ and only a 1Ghz processor.
I was hoping for more in the interviews on RIM’s vision of how these devices fit in but you can check out the details from the interviews for yourself:
RIM has finally come out and made honest devices out of the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380. We knew the devices were coming but now RIM has officially made them part of the BlackBerry 7 portfolio. There is nothing really crazy new in this announcement but both devices will be packing NFC and a compass built in for augmented reality. The Bold 9790 will have a 1Ghz processor instead of the 1.2Ghz and 800Mhz processors we have seen so far. The Curve 9380 as you probably know by now is a cheaper version of the all touchscreen Torch with a smaller 3.2” display and an 800Mhz processor.

Availability

A new leaked roadmap points to Verizon releasing the BlackBerry Curve 9370 on November 17th. We previously saw this device in a Verizon rebate form and now we actually have a rumored launch date. The Curve 9370 differs from the 9350/9360 models by having 1GB of storage instead of the 9350/9360’s 512MB of storage. The 9370 is also a world phone which is a first for the Curve packing a Dual-Band: 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EVDO Rev A antenna with a Quad-Band: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE antenna.

A new rebate sheet scored by Engadget shows the BlackBerry Curve 9370 coming to Verizon. We have not heard much about the Curve 9370 which differs from the 9350/9360 models by having 1GB of storage instead of the 9350/9360’s 512MB of storage. The rebate sheet for this month has it having a $50 rebate but no word on price. I have been using a BlackBerry Curve 9350 on Sprint for the last few days and am really liking the device. Anybody else waiting to get one of these?
We have seen the all touch BlackBerry Curve 9380 a few times and now we have some more confirmation. MobileSyrup spotted a Telus flying showing the BlackBerry Curve 9380 coming for the holiday season. It has a 3.2 inch screen with 360×480 resolution with an 800Mhz CPU, 5PM camera, and a few other perks. This is really going to be the first touchscreen in the Curve line and also the first without a keyboard going all touch.
What do you think of the Curve 9380? Interested or would you simply get a Torch 9850/9860?
RIM announced this morning that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 9360 are now the “World’s First SIM-Based Smartphones to Receive MasterCard PayPass Handset Certification.” That is not to shabby for RIM since these devices are freshly launched. France Telecom Orange is the first carrier to benefit from the certification and plans to use the NFC features for contactless payments.

The certification was granted on the basis of the BlackBerry(R) smartphones meeting the functionality, interoperability and security requirements of MasterCard. With this certification, any MasterCard PayPass-issuing bank globally will be able to deploy MasterCard PayPass-enabled accounts to the SIM card of these smartphones.
The ecosystem to allow customers to take advantage of the certified BlackBerry smartphones for NFC payments is already growing. France Telecom – Orange believes that mobile NFC has the potential to enable a new revolution in mobile by further connecting people’s mobile digital world with the physical world around them. France Telecom – Orange is the first operator worldwide to have commercial NFC launches in two countries, UK and France, with trials in several European markets.
The latest rumor from up north is that Rogers is gearing up to sell a white version of the BlackBerry Curve 9360. According to MobileSyrup some Rogers stores are already getting dummy devices for the white Curve 9360. The pricing is set for $49.99 with a 3 year contract or $349.99 without. Still cannot get over these 3 year contracts…

They are telling BlackBerry devs to prepare for the new devices and resolutions which is nice and early to get devs ready. The Curve 9380 wont take much for devs to prepare for since it runs at the same resolution and orientation as the Torch 9800. On the other hand the Bold 9790 mixes things up by offering the 480×360 resolution but in portrait view. So in other words apps that rotate well to landscape on the Torch will work just fine on the 9790.

User on Wind up in Canada have been waiting patiently for their BlackBerry 7 devices to launch. According to some information leaked on Howard Forums (via MobileSyrup) Wind users may not need to wait long. It looks like Wind is planning on releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Curve 9360, and Torch 9860 in mid-October. My guess is we will hear more about pricing and exact dates soon.
One of our tipsters let us know that T-Mobile has extended their offers to developers to include the just launched T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360. The new deal is not much different than the previous one we mentioned for the Bold 9900. T-Mobile is offering the BlackBerry Bold 9360 for free after a $50 mail in rebate as long as you sign up for a 2 year contract. They also waive the activation fee and throw in free shipping which is much better than the $79.99 T-Mobile is charging on their regular website.
RIM let us know that Telus is launching a BlackBerry Curve 9360 in pink and it seems to be confirmed on the TELUS Website. Previous rumors had it launching this month for Breast Cancer Awareness month. According to RIM the Pink 9360 will be selling for $49.99 with a 3 year contract and $25 (maximum of $250,000) will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for each device sold. Select pink accessories for the phone will also donate $5 to the Foundation.
Sprint delayed the BlackBerry Curve 9350 a few times from its scheduled launch in September. Now it is finally here with a price tag of $49.99. Its not a bad deal though if you can afford it I would recommend the 9930 over it. Michelle over @CrackBerry noticed that the purchase page for the BlackBerry Curve 9350 is now live on Sprint’s website. Let us know if you pick one up!
Today is the day T-Mobile told us they would officially be selling the BlackBerry Curve 9360 and true to their word the phone is now live on their website. The only catch is that it is currently out of stock… I am not sure what to make of that but at least the website confirms that it is $79.99 after a $50 mail in rebate. The other interesting thing is that the product description clearly specifies that it has both Mobile AND Wi-Fi calling which would mean it has UMA support. That is something that as far as I know is not included on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 from T-Mobile.
We heard earlier that TELUS Canada would be getting a pink variant of the BlackBerry Curve 9360 but we didn’t have a time frame. Now we know from MobileSyrup that TELUS will be carrying it for Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is October. During that time TELUS will donate $25 per pink 9360 sold to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It will be available online and in stores soon.
Now if only RIM would get around to releasing a crimson red version of the Bold 9900

Now we have a picture of a T-Mobile flyer scored by TmoNews from a T-Mobile store for the BlackBerry Curve 9360. That should be a pretty good sign that these devices should be coming very soon. Anybody want to hazard a guess? Sadly there is still no word on UMA calling…
