Verizon Wireless Chief Marketing Officer Marni Walden Confirms 3 New BlackBerry Devices Launching This Year!

BGR today posted an interview they conducted with Marni Walden, Chief Marketing Officer at Verizon Wireless. While the majority of the interview was non-BlackBerry related there was one interesting bit stuck out to me. Verizon is one of those carriers that doesn’t really mention an upcoming device until it’s right around the corner or a Google ad gives it away. According to this one interview question and response, however, Verizon Wireless will be launching 3 BlackBerry devices this year.

BG: Where does that leave you guys with RIM? If I’m not mistaken, Verizon Wireless was at one point the largest seller of BlackBerry devices in the U.S. Maybe I’m wrong about that, but you were a very, very large partner. With the company going through a transition period, do you see Research In Motion being a strong part of your lineup in the future?

Walden: I do. RIM is still very, very important in the enterprise space. It does resonate in some of the consumer space as well, particularly with BBM. We’ll have three devices this year that we will bring to market with RIM. We’ll continue our partnership and it’ll be important for now going forward.

So there it is, an official confirmation that Verizon Wireless will be launching a few new BlackBerry devices this year one of which is definitely the BlackBerry Bold 9930 even though Walden didn’t directly mention it. Anyone with Verizon excited yet?
