RIM Updating BlackBerry Analytics (Webtrends) Portal Tomorrow

BlackBerry Analytics

RIM sent out an email to devs that they are planning on revamping their BlackBerry Analytics portal tomorrow. BlackBerry Analytics is a free app analytics platform for developers powered by Webtrends. The upgrade is set to start at 5PM PT tomorrow (Sept 15th) for a few hours where the portal will be unavailable. After that it will come back with a “fresh new look and feel.” The reports, definitions, and SDK have not changed but here are the three main portal changes:

  • Spaces:  A space is a container which contains data for an app. The concept of a space is a carryover from the Webtrends Analytics product where it is used more generally for digital properties other than mobile apps.
  • Groups: A group is a structure for organizing your spaces (apps).  If you manage a lot of apps, groups can be a useful feature for you.
  • New Report Menus:  Reports are now accessed through a navigation menu along the left side of the page and are organized into report categories to make it easier to find the report you want to run.

If you use BlackBerry Analytics then make sure to check it out tomorrow night at blackberry.webtrends.com.
