RIM Looking for Two BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps Engineers

RIM is clearly working hard on getting Android apps running on the PlayBook but one of our writers pointed out two positions RIM has posted on their LinkedIn page that are very telling. RIM is looking for a “BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps – System Software Engineer” and a “BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps – Compliance Engineer” in the San Francisco Bay area. It even has some cool responsibilities with the software engineer responsibilities:

The compliance Engineer Responsibilities include:

  • Systematically identifying categories of content compliance issues for BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps
  • Identifying root causes for non-compliance of Android applications on the Playbook platform
  • Creating workarounds and alternate implementations for compliant behavior
  • Devising content guidelines for developers to inform them of compliance related pitfalls
